A great little game that builds a racetrack according to your MP3 music choice, Audio Surf shows innovation and clever gaming with something unique.

 

Command & Conquer 3

Essentially a re-work of previous command and conquer games, I wasn’t overly impressed with it all.

Only for command & conquer fans I’m afraid, I’ll stick to Age of Empires.

Universe At War

Those aliens are getting it again - blamed for all our inadequacies in this Universe At War RPG.

If you liked Command & Conquer, then this is the right game for you with the sci-fi twist.

Multiplayer mode also has it merits if you become bored with scenario missions.

It’s pretty but requires exceptional graphics and processing power to look good on even the latest PCs.

I had to get my data recovered….

To be precise, I had a hard drive crash.  In a nutshell, I had to visit the data recovery guys as I couldn’t with all my nerdy PC knowledge, rescue the data.

After trawling data recovery companies on the net, I came narrowed it down to several data recovery companies.  Some weren’t sure they could recover the data but 123 Data Recovery were positive they could recover my data.

Sent off the hard disk and 3 days later I had all the data recovered on a new hard disk.  Great! 

Price was reasonable for the data recovery service but the time it would have taken to get my boot drive back was worth it.  I would definitely recommend 123 Data Recovery  if you have a hard disk crash and need data recovery in a hurry.

RACE 07 – WTCC

Fanatastic realism makes RACE 07 a great simulator for die hard racing fans.

Includes touring cars, Radicals and Formula series.

Ballast weights etc. all used for winning drivers and is essentially an excellent rendition of car racing in the real virtual world.

Graphics slightly dated, but you soon forget about that with the game play.

Harry potter and the Ord

Although pretty, the new Harry Potter game lacks anything really new or decent.

You do the usual learning of spells and performing tasks (the same task 6 times now less) and exploring Hogwarts.

The game essentially is a combination of tedious tasks and easy puzzles.  Battle chess is the nicest option but it is not much good for children who can’t play chess.

In all, a thumbs down.

DiRT

DiRT is the latest driving game for the PC. 

 Utilising the best 3D gaming cards on the PC, DiRT gives you a rally experience to die for.

Choose all the usual Subaru or Mitsubishi Evo cars and crack the stages in your best times.

Be warned, will require very latest graphics card and at least 3Ghz processor

Halo 2

Halo was a storm on Xbox and Xbox 360.

But what’s the PC version like?

The skies the limit I suppose – with PCs now running 4Ghz processors, there’s no limit to the resolution or speed of graphics.

Single player takes around 12 hours to complete.

Multi player option is excellent with 16 players possible.

Resolutions run up to 1680 for fast PCs.

A little dated for 2007 but nevertheless Halo 2 is an excellent game.

Lord of the Rings online

At last an online universe of my favourite movie – Lord of The Rings

Encompassing the Tolkien Middle Earth scenario to a tee, it definitely hits home with Lord of The Rings fans.

40 missions await you to accomplish and up to 40 levels to move your character through. 

Once at level 10, you may create a monster which can be used for combat to increase your XP level also.

Graphics and interface are accurate and lovely to look at.  Details include hobbit holes, orcs and the such likes.

If you’re a middle-earth fan….try this.  8/10

Stalker

Another excellent first person shooter, STALKER is an open ended game rather than linear with a huge environment which allows you to have some freedom to roam and do what you prefer.

Different features to the likes of Quake mean you can only carry 3 weapons and need to feed regularly otherwise you go hungry and die.

The story is wafty but essentially you’re out there to kill various zombies and paranormal creatures.  Multi player mode basic with deathwatch, team play etc.

8/10 for sure.
